They have led groundbreaking research in the field of cardiology, coached a Division 1 program to the NCAA Tournament, tested the first artificial heart valve in humans, traveled with the national tour of Cats and Wicked, and won the Nobel Peace Prize.

For more than 166 years, Rockford graduates have made their mark around the world. Far more than preparing students to do something, we empower our graduates to accomplish anything.

Michael Krieter Voted NACC Special Teams Player of the Week

Rockford University senior linebacker Michael Krieter (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts on the field last Saturday. This is the first NACC weekly award of his career, and he becomes the fifth different RU football player to earn a weekly award from the NACC this season.

Michael Watson Named Regent of the Week

Junior linebacker Michael Watson (Schaumburg, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 1, 2015. Watson led the Rockford defense on Saturday as the Regents held the Eagles to just 246 yards and 1 pass completion. The junior recorded a career-high 17 tackles, which was just two shy of the single game school record. He now currently ranks second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with 73 total tackles.

Giovana Ortega Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore midfielder Giovana Ortega (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 25, 2015. Ortega was instrumental in leading the Regents to a perfect 2-0 record this past week. She opened with a hat-trick scoring 3 goals and adding 2 assists in the Regents 9-0 win over Mount Mary. Ortega then capped off her week with a goal in Rockford's 2-1 road win against Alverno.

Erik Manriquez Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore midfielder Erik Manriquez (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 18, 2015. Manriquez led the Rockford University men's soccer team to its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win since the 2009 season. He was involved in both of Rockford's goals in the Regents 2-0 win over Concordia University Chicago on Saturday, scoring the first and assisting on the second.

John Finley Named Regent of the Week

Junior John Finley (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 11, 2015. Finley was the top performer for the Regents on Friday at the Benedictine University Eagle Invite. He placed 50th out of 118 runners in the men's 8k race with a time of 29:07.4. It was his best effort of the season as he eclipsed his previous fastest time in the 8k by over two minutes.

Gris Mendoza Named Regent of the Week

Junior goalkeeper Gris Mendoza (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 4, 2015. Mendoza was outstanding in goal in Rockford's two matches last week. The junior faced 30 shots over the weekend making 27 saves while allowing just three goals in 180 minutes of action.

Christian Devant Named Regent of the Week

Freshman Christian Devant (Winnebago, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 20, 2015. Devant has had an impressive three weeks to begin his collegiate career including a pair of fourth place finishes. He has been the top finisher for Rockford in each of its three meets so far this season. Last weekend Devant placed fourth in the Beloit Olde English Classic as he crossed the finish line in 28:49.0.

For the second consecutive week the Rockford University football team had a pair of student-athletes earn Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors. Linebacker Michael Watson (Schaumburg, Ill.) earned Rockford's first NACC Defensive Player of Week award this year.

For the second consecutive week the Rockford University football team had a pair of student-athletes earn Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors. Sophomore wide receiver Mar Sean Vercher (Chicago, Ill.) became the second Regent in as many weeks to be named the conference's offensive player of the week.

The musical "Seesaw" is based on the William Gibson play "Two for the Seesaw". The plot focuses on a brief affair between Jerry Ryan, a young lawyer from Nebraska, and Gittel Mosca, a kooky, streetwise dancer from the Bronx.

This award is given to college seniors who demonstrate excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.

Established in 1991, The Shirl Shanhouse Morris Prize in Sociology is funded by Mrs. Morris' husband, Raymond F. Morris, and her children, to honor the 1941 Rockford College alumna. The prize is awarded to an outstanding student majoring in sociology.
