Kivontay Shaw Named Regent of the Week

Guard Kivontay Shaw (Gallesburg, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 18, 2018. Shaw posted his first career double-double this past week in Rockford's road game against Concordia University Chicago. He finished with 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting, a career-high 11 rebounds and 1 assist.

Linzy Keller Named Regent of the Week

Junior guard Linzy Keller (Machesney Park, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 11, 2018. Keller had a career day for the Regents this past Friday in their season opener at Mount Mary University. She played in an astounding 44 of the 45 minutes and finished with a career-high 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

Dylan Peterson Earns Weekly Awards from the NACC and D3football.com

Junior defensive back Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.) earned not one but two weekly awards on Tuesday morning for his outstanding performance on the field last Saturday. Peterson was voted the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, and selected as one of the two safeties on the D3football.com Team of the Week. Peterson becomes the second Regent football player this season to earn a weekly award from the NACC, and only the second Regent ever to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Rockford's other D3football.com Team of the Week recipient came during the 2013 season when wide receiver Delroy Russell Jr. was selected.

Dylan Peterson Named Regent of the Week

Junior defensive back Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 4, 2018. Peterson helped lead Rockford to its first shutout since the 2008 season with their 24-0 win over Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday. The junior defensive back was all over the field, intercepting a pair of passes, recording one sack, forcing a fumble and making four tackles. His second interception came at a crucial point with less than a minute remaining in the first half and Rockford holding a 10-0 lead. Peterson made a diving interception at the Rockford 3-yard line to end the threat and CUW's lone trip into the red zone.

Ja'uan Joiner Named NACC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Rockford University return specialist Ja'uan Joiner (Phenix City, Ala.) earned yet another award on Tuesday when he was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week. This marks the second time this year Joiner has been recognized by the NACC after being named NACC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week earlier in the season. Joiner becomes the first RU football player to ever receive multiple different NACC weekly awards in a season or in a career. Sophomore Ja'uan Joiner provided a jolt for the Regents this past Saturday against Concordia University Chicago. Joiner returned 3 kickoffs for 133 yards including one for an 86-yard touchdown. It was Rockford's first kickoff return for a touchdown since October 17, 2009 when Jeremiah Montgomery returned a kickoff 77 yards for a score. The Rockford University football team will play its final home game of the season on Saturday, November 3 against Concordia University Wisconsin. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at Sam Greeley Field. The Regents will also be honoring their eight seniors prior to the start of the game.

Marion Adelson Named Regent of the Week

Freshman midfielder Marion Adelson (Tournan-en-Brie, France) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 28, 2018. Adelson had one of the top performances of any Regent so far this year in Rockford's 5-4 win over Lincoln Christian this past Thursday. The freshman recorded her first hat-trick of the season scoring a season-high four goals in the match, including the game-winner in the 78th minute. Adelson was as extremely efficient in the victory, scoring on all four of her shot attempts.

Alonzo Carrillo Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore midfielder Alonzo Carrillo (Harvard, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2018. Carrillo was heavily involved in three of the Regents' four goals this past week, and helped lead Rockford to an impressive 4-0 win over Lakeland University on Senior Day. The sophomore assisted on the first two goals of the match, before sealing the win in the 82nd minute with an incredible goal of his own. The victory gives Rockford its highest win total ever in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.

Ja'uan Joiner Voted NACC Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Rockford University sophomore defensive back Ja'uan Joiner (Phenix City, Ala.) was voted the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance last Saturday at Lakeland University. This is both Joiner's first weekly award from the NACC, and the football program's first player of the week honor this season.

Delayno Mack Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore quarterback Delayno Mack (Loves Park, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2018. Mack was instrumental in leading the Regents to their first ever win over the four-time defending NACC Champion Lakeland University Muskies on Saturday. The sophomore quarterback completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts (75%) for 232 yards and a career-high 4 touchdowns.

Edgar Gomez Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore goalkeeper Edgar Gomez (Belvidere, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2018. Gomez allowed just one goal and had 11 saves in 180 minutes in goal this past week. The sophomore made five saves to earn the shutout win in Rockford's 1-0 road victory over Concordia Chicago on Wednesday. Gomez then had six saves and allowed just one goal in the Regents' 1-0 loss at first-place MSOE.

Joe Werkheiser Named Regent of the Week

Senior Joe Werkheiser (Lena, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 23, 2018. Werkheiser was the top finisher for the Regents last week at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. The men's 8k race was extremely competitive, as it had over 30 schools participating and a total of 330 individuals. Werkheiser ran very well against the tough and crowded field, as he crossed the finish line in 28:47.7.

Ryan Munch Named Regent of the Week

Junior forward Ryan Munch (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 16, 2018. Munch helped lead Rockford to a perfect 2-0 week with a total of seven points in the Regents' two victories. He began by scoring his first goal of the season on Wednesday in Rockford's 3-2 win over Moody Bible. Then on Saturday, he was involved in three of the Regents' four goals, scoring twice and assisting on another. For the week, Munch tallied three goals and one assist.

Jared Johnson Named Regent of the Week

Senior defensive end Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 2, 2018. Johnson was all over the field on Saturday in Rockford's 35-12 win over UMAC preseason favorite MacMurray College. Johnson tallied 7 tackles including 2 sacks. He also forced a fumble, which led to one of MacMurray's three turnovers.

Emily Johannes Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore outside hitter Emily Johannes (Eau Claire, Wis.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 9, 2018. Johannes helped lead Rockford to a pair of wins this past weekend at the Northland College Tournament. For the week, Johannes recorded 37 kills, 36 digs, 8 assists and 5 service aces. Her best match last week came against St. Catherine where she smashed 9 kills on just 17 attack attempts for a .412 hitting percentage. For her efforts on the floor, Johannes was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Freshman thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 27, 2018. Terry concluded her season on Friday, May 25 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Terry's top throw in the shot put came on her third attempt in the preliminaries and traveled a distance of 13.38 meters. Her mark was officially the thirteenth farthest throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and was just 0.16 meters shy of qualifying her for the finals.

Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Freshman thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 20, 2018. Terry continued her outstanding year with yet another great performance last Thursday. Terry finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 13.25 meters. She also became the first known Regent to qualify for Nationals since Rockford transitioned from NAIA to NCAA in the 1980s. She finished the season tied for the ninth farthest throw in NCAA Division III at 13.98 meters. Terry is also currently right on the edge of earning All-America status, as the top eight finishers at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are named All-Americans.

Jared Johnson Named Regent of the Week

Junior thrower Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 13, 2018. Johnson participated in a trio of events last week at the Dr. Keeler Invite. His best performance of the day came in the shot put where he finished 13th with a throw of 12.93 meters. He then recorded distances of 38.66 meters in the discus and 38.78 meters in the hammer throw.

Austin Smith Voted Second Team All-NACC

The Rockford University baseball team had a pair of players receive all-conference recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning. Sophomore pitcher Zachary Jones (Rockford, Ill.) and senior shortstop Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) were both voted Second Team all NACC. This marks the first time either has received NACC postseason honors.

Zachary Jones Voted Second Team All-NACC

The Rockford University baseball team had a pair of players receive all-conference recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning. Sophomore pitcher Zachary Jones (Rockford, Ill.) and senior shortstop Austin Smith (Peru, Ill.) were both voted Second Team all NACC. This marks the first time either has received NACC postseason honors.

Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 6, 2018. Terry once again stole the show on Saturday at the NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Terry won the shot put easily with a record-breaking throw of 13.98 meters. Her throw destroyed the RU school record, the NACC record and the NACC Outdoor Championship record. Additionally, she now has the eighth best throw in all of NCAA Division III this season and is well on her way to qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championship. The NCAA Championship will take place at the end of the month with the top 22 individuals in the event qualifying. Terry is the first ever RU female track and field athlete to win the same event at both the NACC Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the same season, and only the second RU track and field athlete to accomplish the feat (Matt Lindgren). Terry also participated in the discus and hammer throw events. In the discus, she finished fourth and broke the RU school record with a throw of 37.60 meters. Then in the hammer, Terry placed seventh and broke the RU record with a distance of 40.92 meters.

Joseph Kmiec Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore pitcher Joseph Kmiec (Bolingbrook, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 29, 2018. Kmiec was heavily involved in Rockford's two wins over the top two teams in NACC last week. Kmiec got the start against Benedictine and went 6.1 innings to pick the win against the Eagles. He allowed just one earned run off six hits and struck out two. Kmiec then threw the final three innings against tenth-ranked Concordia Chicago to earn a save. The left-hander allowed no runs, struck out two and retired the final eight batters of the game. For the week the sophomore threw 9.1 innings with a 0.96 earned run average and had four strikeouts.

Christian Dahlstrom Named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the Second Time this Year

Rockford University freshman relief pitcher Christian Dahlstrom (Clermont, Fla.) continues to receive national recognition for his play on the field as he was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the second time this season. Dahlstrom is now the first ever RU baseball player to be named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week twice in the same season.

Christian Dahlstrom Named Regent of the Week

Freshman relief pitcher Christian Dahlstrom (Clermont, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 22, 2018. Dahlstrom was again unhittable for the Regents out of the bullpen last week. The freshman right-hander tossed 6.1 shutout innings and did not allow a hit in his three relief appearances. He struck out two of the three batters he faced in his one inning of work on Friday against Maranatha. Dahlstrom then threw the final two innings on Saturday against Edgewood, striking out two and helping preserve Rockford's 6-1 win. His lone save of the week came on Sunday when he tossed the final 3.1 innings and struck out five against Marian. Dahlstrom entered with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth and was able to get out of the jam without allowing a run. He then went on to throw the rest of the game to remain a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities this season and tie the RU single-season saves record. For the week he allowed no runs and no hits while striking out nine and walking two. The freshman has yet to allow an earned run in his ten innings of work this year. He has struck out fifteen in his eight appearances and walked only three.

Alex Storey Named Regent of the Week

Senior infielder Alex Storey (Dexter, Mich.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 15, 2018. Storey had a hit in all four of Rockford's games this past week including three straight multi-hit performances. Against Wisconsin Lutheran, Storey went 1-for-2 in the opener and then 2-for-4 with an RBI in game two. She then went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and 2 runs driven in during Rockford's 7-0 win over Maranatha. Storey concluded her week going 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs in the Regents 16-3 win in game two against the Sabercats. For the week, Storey hit .438, with a .471 on-base percentage, a .625 slugging percentage, a double, a triple and 6 RBIs.
