Lexi Rangel Named Regent of the Week

Freshman guard Lexi Rangel (Prophetstown, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending February 17, 2019. Rangel turned in an excellent all-around performance in her return to the lineup on Saturday after missing the previous four games. She narrowly missed her first double-double of the season despite coming off the bench. Rangel finished with 13 points, tied a season-high with 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist.

Kevin Diemer Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore forward Kevin Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending February 10, 2019. Diemer recorded a pair of double-doubles last week, while averaging 21.5 points on 60.7% shooting, 13.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He opened with 22 points on 56.3% shooting, a season-high 15 rebounds and 3 assists in Rockford's 104-102 overtime win against Concordia Chicago. Diemer then tallied his fourth straight double-double at Edgewood with 21 points on 66.7% shooting, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.

The new musical "Techies", a fourth-wall shattering pop-rock musical comedy about being weird and fighting for respect in one of the most judgmental places on earth: high school, takes center stage on February 21- 23, 2019. Directed by Rockford University Associate Professor of Music, Timm Adams.

Tony Diemer Earns His Second NACC Weekly Award of the Season

Rockford University senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. It marks the second time this season and the fourth time during his career that Diemer has earned a NACC weekly award. Tony Diemer averaged a double-double to help lead Rockford to a 2-0 NACC record last week, and get his team within striking distance of securing a berth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. Diemer tallied his fourth double-double of the season in Rockford's 80-72 win over Marian with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists. He then capped off his week with 25 points and 8 rebounds in Rockford's 93-78 road victory over Benedictine. It was the Regents' first win at Benedictine since Saturday, January 30, 2010. For the week, Diemer averaged 21.5 points on 55.6% shooting, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists. The RU men's basketball team concludes the home portion of its regular season schedule on Wednesday, February 6 against Concordia University Chicago. Tip-off is set for 7:15 PM in the Seaver Center.

Brandon Emerick Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore guard Brandon Emerick (Elkhart, Ind.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending February 3, 2019. Emerick helped lead Rockford to a 2-0 week in NACC play and get the Regents within striking distance of securing a berth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. The sophomore opened with 13 points on 6-for-8 (75.0%) shooting, 2 assists and 2 steals in Rockford's 80-72 win over Marian. He then capped off his week with 21 points on 7-for-11 (63.6%) shooting, including knocking down a pair of three-pointers, as Rockford won at Benedictine for the first time since 2010. Emerick also added 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals to his totals. For the week, he averaged 17.0 points on 68.4% shooting, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 rebounds.

Linzy Keller Named Regent of the Week

Guard Linzy Keller (Machesney Park, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending January 27, 2019. Keller averaged 14.5 points on 55% shooting, including 50.0% from three-point range, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals. She began her week with 14 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal at MSOE. However, her best performance came in the Regents 67-61 win over Illinois Tech. Keller poured in 15 points on an incredible 7-for-11 shooting performance and had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Tony Diemer Named Regent of the Week

Senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending January 20, 2019. Diemer averaged 21.0 points on 54.8% shooting, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal; as well as hitting the game-winning shot with 7.1 seconds remaining to the lift the Regents over the Warriors. Diemer had 24 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in Rockford's 85-84 win. He then came off the bench at CUW and recorded his third double-double of the season with 18 points, a season-high 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Kevin Dimer Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore forward Kevin Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending January 13, 2019. Diemer helped Rockford go 1-1 in NACC play this past week. His top performance came against Benedictine when he recorded his team-leading fourth double-double of the season. Diemer finished with 17 points on 7-for-10 (63.6%) shooting, including knocking down 3-of-4 from three-point range, a season-high 14 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal. For the week, Diemer averaged 12.0 points on 60.0% shooting, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

Tony Diemer Named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Rockford University senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) garnered his second award of the season on Monday night, when he was selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Diemer has now been voted both the NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week and has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week this season, making him the first RU men's basketball player since Zach Wallace in 2016-17 to accomplish that feat.

Kivontay Shaw Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore guard Kivontay Shaw (Galesburg, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending January 6, 2019. Shaw helped lead the Regents to a perfect 2-0 record in NACC play last week. The sophomore opened with 17 points on 5-for-7 (71.4%) shooting and had 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season in Rockford's 99-79 win over Lakeland. He then exploded for a career-high 32 points on 11-for-16 (68.8%) shooting, including draining 7-of-10 (70.0%) from three-point range, and had 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in the Regents' 108-102 overtime win against Aurora. The win gave Rockford its first regular season sweep over Aurora since 2002-03. For the week, Shaw averaged 24.5 points on a blistering 16-for-23 (69.9%) shooting from the floor, including going 10-for-15 (66.7%) from three-point range. He also averaged 7.0 rebounds 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 0.5 block.

Nicole Silvers Named Regent of the Week

Senior guard Nicole Silvers (Byron, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending December 30, 2018. Silvers scored over 20 points for the third time in the last five games and recorded her first double-double as a Regent. She finished with 26 points on 41.7% shooting including draining 5-of-10 three-point attempts. Silvers also added 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Diemer had another outstanding week, as the senior averaged over 20 points in Rockford's two games. He opened with 24 points on 52.6% shooting, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal against Dubuque. Diemer then had 17 points on 58.3% shooting, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists against the University of Saint Joseph. For the week, Diemer averaged 20.5 points on 54.8% shooting, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals.

Sophomore forward Kevin Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending December 16, 2018. Diemer helped lead the Regents to a perfect 2-0 record last week, and extend Rockford's wining streak to four games. He began his week with 14 points on 66.7% shooting, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in Rockford's 90-59 win over Knox. He then had 13 points on 50.0% shooting, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in the Regents' 86-73 win against Edgewood. For the week, he averaged 13.5 points on 58.8% shooting, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Tony Diemer Voted NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in Rockford's road wins over Marian and Aurora this past week. This is the first NACC weekly award this season for Diemer and third overall in his career.

Tony Diemer Named Regent of the Week

Senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending December 9, 2018. Diemer led Rockford to a pair of road NACC wins this past week. The senior opened with a game-high 38 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in Rockford's four overtime win at Marian. He then had a game-high 28 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in the Regents' first win at Aurora since January 4, 2003. Diemer also tied the RU single-game free throw percentage record by going a perfect 10-for-10 at the free throw line. For the week, the senior averaged 33.0 points on 50% shooting from the field, 50% shooting from three-point range and 95.2% shooting at the free throw line. He also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

Dylan Peterson Selected Third Team All-North Region

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University safety Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.) added to his impressive list of accomplishments this season on Tuesday, when he was named Third Team All-North Region by D3football.com. This is now the fourth individual award for Peterson this year, after previously being named First Team All-NACC, NACC Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week and one of the safeties on D3football.com Team of the Week. Peterson also becomes just the fifth player in program history to be selected All-North Region by D3football.com and the first since the 2007 season.

Joe Werkheiser Named Regent of the Week

Senior Joe Werkheiser (Lena, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending December 2, 2018. Werkheiser was the top performer for the men's indoor track and field team on Saturday. Werkheiser finished twelfth in the 300 meter dash and established the RU school record with a time of 37.80 seconds. He also set a personal best in the 600 meter race when he crossed the finish line in 1:30.02 to place sixteenth.

Highlighting the group of Regents were four First Team All-NACC performers: tight end Adam Ambrogio (Rockford, Ill.), defensive end Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.), offensive lineman William Lawhorn (Rochelle, Ill.) and defensive back Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.). Running back Chance Manning (Durand, Ill.) was named Second Team All-NACC and linebacker Jallen Bashford (Fairbury, Ill.) was selected NACC Honorable Mention. The four First Team All-NACC selections are tied for the most in program history.

Diemer had his best game of the year on Saturday against third-ranked Augustana, with season-highs in both points and rebounds. Diemer tallied his first double-double of the year with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

2018 Lincoln Laureate

Rockford University senior Tracy Wang (Jiangsu, China) has been named as a 2018 Lincoln Laureate by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Each year, the annual Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Ceremony recognizes excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities by seniors from each of the state's four-year, degree-granting colleges and universities, and one student from the community colleges in Illinois. This year's ceremony took place Saturday, November 17, in Springfield. President Eric Fulcomer, Ph.D. accompanied Wang for the ceremony.
