Brandon Bothem Named NACC Honorable Mention

Seven Rockford University football players received postseason recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Monday morning when the NACC released its 2017 all-conference awards. Running back Chance Manning (Durand, Ill.), offensive lineman Austin Miller (Washington, Ill.), tight end Adam Ambrogio (Rockford, Ill.) and punter Alexis Guteirrez (Amboy, Ill.) were each First Team All-NACC selections, while offensive lineman Brandon Bothem (Roscoe, Ill.), defensive lineman Jacob Cremeens (Roscoe, Ill.) and defensive back Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.) received NACC Honorable Mention status. Rockford's four First Team All-NACC selections are the most in program history, and its seven overall selections are tied for the most in program history.

Taylor Krocker Named Regent of the Week

Junior forward Taylor Krocker (Portage, Wis.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 26, 2017. Krocker helped lead Rockford to a 1-0 start in NACC play this past week. In the Regents' win on Saturday over Wisconsin Lutheran, Krocker scored 15 points on 63.6% shooting, grabbed 7 rebounds, had 2 assists, blocked 1 shot and made 1 steal. For the week he averaged 16.0 points on 56.0% shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks.

Tony Diemer Named Regent of the Week

Junior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 19, 2017. Diemer helped lead Rockford to a 2-1 start to its season last week. In the Regents' first game against Beloit, Diemer sealed the win with a clutch free throw with 5 seconds left to give Rockford a 4-point lead. For the week the junior averaged 12.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals, while shooting 43.2% from the floor.

The famous and profligate playwright Sidney Bruhl is having a tough time coming up with a successful work. He is desperate for a new play, but then an admiring young fan sends him a masterpiece. With the help of his wife, Sidney plans to kill the man and steal his script. Will it work? This comic and yet highly suspenseful plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ira Levin is no stranger to suspense having written A Kiss Before Dying, Rosemary's Baby, The Boy's From Brazil, and The Stepford Wives to mention a few. Directed by Prof. Angelo O'Dierno.

Rockford University senior Malcolm Engelbrecht (Loves Park, Ill.) has been chosen as a 2017 Lincoln Laureate by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois.

Joe Werkheiser Named Regent of the Week

Junior Joe Werkheiser (Winnebago, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 12, 2017. Werkheiser set a new personal best in the 8k by over a minute on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, crossing the finish line in 26:43.8. He also had the highest finish of any Regent placing 151st in a field of 254 total runners.

Jared Johnson Named Regent of the Week

Junior defensive lineman Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending November 5, 2017. Johnson led the Regents with a career-high 13 tackles on Saturday including 11 solo tackles. He also had 1 tackle for loss and forced a crucial fumble that led to at the time, the game-tying touchdown.

Giovana Ortega Named Regent of the Week

Senior midfielder Giovana Ortega (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 29, 2017. Ortega led the Regents to a 7-3 win in Rockford's final match of the season. The senior was involved in three of Rockford's goals, scoring two and assisting on another.

LaVar Johnson Jr. Named Regent of the Week

Freshman running back LaVar Johnson Jr. (Memphis, Tenn.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 22, 2017. Johnson led the RU rushing attack with his second straight 100-yard rushing performance on Saturday. The freshman carried the ball 20 times for 120 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.

Jared Johnson Named Regent of the Week

Junior defensive lineman Jared Johnson (Miami, Fla.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 15, 2017. Johnson was an integral part to the Regents' victory and defensive success this past Saturday. He finished the game with 7 tackles, two sacks and an interception. Both of his sacks came on third down, effectively ending a pair of Cougar drives. He then capped off his day with an interception in the red zone on what turned out to be CUC's final offensive play of the game.

Carlos Galvan Named Regent of the Week

Freshman midfielder Carlos Galvan (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 8, 2017. Galvan scored his first two collegiate goals in Rockford's 3-2 win over Moody Bible Institute on Saturday. He tied the match in the 59th minute off a free kick from 20 yards out and then headed in the game-winning goal in the 81st minute.

Alexis Guteirrez Voted NACC Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week

The Regents received their first weekly award of the year late Monday night when freshman Alexis Guteirrez (Amboy, Ill.) was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week. Guteirrez becomes the first Regent to earn NACC Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week honors since the 2015 season.

Dylan Peterson Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore defensive back Dylan Peterson (Reynolds, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 1, 2017. Dylan Peterson was a key part of a Rockford defense that forced four turnovers and kept a high-powered Benedictine offense in check on Saturday. Peterson was all over the field making multiple big plays in the game and ending three Eagle drives. He intercepted his first career pass, made a key tackle in the backfield on a fourth and one at the RU 20-yard line and recovered a fumble in the end zone late in the game to end another scoring threat. Peterson also recorded 9 tackles including 6 solo tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

Anthony Beck Named Regent of the Week

Junior goalie Anthony Beck (Fishers, Ind.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 24, 2017. Beck was instrumental in the Regents 1-0 NACC victory over Wisconsin Lutheran this past Saturday. The junior saved all three of the Warriors' shots on goal to record his first shutout of the season and lead Rockford to its first win over WLC since the formation of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2006. For the week, Beck made 8 saves and finished with a 1.33 goals against average.

Brandon Oeltjenbruns Named Regent of the Week

Junior forward Brandon Oeltjenbruns (Arvada, Colo.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 17, 2017. Oeltjenbruns played a pivotal role in the Regents 2-1 victory over Beloit this past week as he scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 54th minute of the match. The win was the Regents' first of the year and the first against Beloit in over a decade.

Lexie Collins Named Regent of the Week

Junior midfielder Lexie Collins (Earlville Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 10, 2017. Collins led the RU women's soccer team to a pair of wins last week and was the Regents' top female runner on the cross country team at the Spartan Classic. She opened with a hat-trick on Wednesday including scoring the game-winning goal in Rockford's 8-0 victory over Eureka College. On Friday, Collins set a personal best by nearly two minutes in the 6k as she crossed the finish line in 27:00.2 to place 67th out of 117 runners. She then concluded her week by playing in all 180 minutes of Rockford's two soccer matches on Saturday and Sunday. Collins was heavily involved in the Regents' 2-1 victory on Sunday, assisting on the first goal and then scoring the game-winning goal midway through the second half.

Christian Devant Named Regent of the Week

Junior Christian Devant (Winnebago, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending September 3, 2017. Devant got his season off to a great start this past Friday at the Beloit Opener. The junior led all Regents with his fifth place finish and set a new personal best in the 6k, crossing the finish line in 21:25.0.

Roller skates, leg warmers, Venice Beach, and 80s pop-rock hits will permeate Maddox Theatre in this laugh-out-loud parody of the cult movie classic of the same name.

These 10 students have been selected to serve as Resident Assistants (RAs) for the 2017-2018 academic year at Rockford University. Demonstrating strong administrative, communication, creativity, and organizational skills, each RA serves a residential community of up to 40 students. Responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing standards and policies of the university, providing mediation and referral services for students, and developing communities that foster academic and personal growth through residential education initiatives that support the mission of Rockford University.
