Katrina Kopfhamer Named Regent of the Week

Junior thrower Katrina Kopfhamer (Portage, Wis.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 19. Kopfhamer broke one school record and set two new personal bests this past Thursday at the Augustana Twilight Qualifier. Kopfhamer finished 13th and broke the school record in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.97 meters. She also set a new personal best in the discus and placed 19th with a throw of 33.93 meters.

Hunter Fiorito Named Third Team All-Midwest Region

Rockford University pitcher Zack Jones (Rockford, Ill.) and second baseman Hunter Fiorito (Batavia, Ill.) continued to rake in the postseason awards on Thursday afternoon, as both were named All-Midwest Region by D3baseball.com. Zack Jones earned First Team All-Midwest Region honors, while Hunter Fiorito was selected Third Team All-Midwest Region. Jones becomes only the second RU baseball player to ever be named First Team All-Midwest Region by D3baseball.com (Jimmy Dercks, 2012). This also marks the first time since 2014 that Rockford has had multiple players earn all-region status in the same season.

Zack Jones Named First Team All-Midwest Region

Senior second baseman Hunter Fiorito (Batavia, Ill.) and junior right-handed pitcher Zack Jones have selected First Team All-NACC by the conference's twelve head coaches. Jones was also voted as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Year. This marks the first time since the 2013 season that Rockford has had two First Team All-NACC selections. Additionally, Jones becomes the first RU baseball player to ever be selected as the NACC Pitcher of the Year, since the introduction of the award following the 2008 season.

Zack Jones Named NACC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-NACC

Rockford University junior Zack Jones (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Year, highlighting Rockford's two all-conference selections. Jones was also voted First Team All-NACC along with senior second baseman Hunter Fiorito (Batavia, Ill.). This marks the first time since the 2013 season that Rockford has had two First Team All-NACC selections. Additionally, Jones becomes the first RU baseball player to ever be selected as the NACC Pitcher of the Year, since the introduction of the award following the 2008 season.

Zack Jones Named Regent of the Week

Junior starting pitcher Zack Jones (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 12, 2019. Jones was nearly unhittable in his final start of the season. The junior right-hander retired the first 17 batters he faced before surrendering an infield single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to break up his bid at a perfect game. He allowed just two hits over his nine innings of work, striking out a career-high 14 batters and walking none. It was his fourth complete game of the season and his first career complete game shutout.

Michael Gunter Named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week

Rockford University junior outfielder Michael Gunter (Maricopa, Ariz.) garnered his first weekly award of the season early Tuesday morning when he was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. Gunter becomes the first RU baseball player to receive the award this season and the first position player for the Regents to be selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week since 2015.

Michael Gunter Named Regent of the Week

Junior outfielder Michael Gunter (Maricopa, Ariz.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending May 5, 2019. Gunter had at least three hits in three of Rockford's four games over the weekend. He began by going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in Rockford's 6-1 win over Lakeland. He then went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs in the opener against Aurora. Gunter capped off his week with a perfect 4-for-4 performance in the nightcap against the Spartans where he was just a home run shy of the cycle. For the week, Gunter hit .667 with a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.067 slugging percentage. He finished with 10 hits including four doubles, a triple, four runs scored and seven runs batted in.

Rylee Klema Named Second Team All-NACC

The Rockford University softball team had a pair of players recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Thursday morning when the NACC released its all-conference awards. Junior outfielder Emily Cox (Erie, Ill.) and freshman pitcher Rylee Klema (Mendota, Ill.) were both voted Second Team All-NACC by the conference's twelve coaches. This marks the first time since 2014 that Rockford has had an All-NACC performer, and the first time since 2008 that the Regents have had two players receive All-NACC status.

Emily Cox Named Regent of the Week

Junior outfielder Emily Cox (Erie, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 28, 2019. Cox hit .429 with a .519 on-base percentage and a .762 slugging percentage this past week. She started off by going a combined 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and five runs driven in against Alverno. She was also 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in game two against Concordia Wisconsin and 2-for-3 with an RBI in the opener against Concordia Chicago. For the week, Cox had nine hits including two home runs, a double, seven runs driven in, five walks and five runs scored.

Hunter Fiorito Named NACC Baseball Position Player of the Week

Rockford University senior infielder Hunter Fiorito (Batavia, Ill.) has been named NACC Baseball Position Player of the Week. This is Fiorito's first NACC award of his career, and Rockford's second NACC weekly award of the season.

Hunter Fiorito Named Regent of the Week

Infielder Hunter Fiorito (Batavia, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 21, 2019. Fiorito had a monster week at the plate to help lead the Regents to a 3-1 record. Fiorito hit .611, with a .667 on-base percentage and a 1.056 slugging percentage over Rockford's four games. He had a hit in every game, including both a five-hit and a four-hit performance. Fiorito went 5-for-5 with four runs scored, one RBI and tied the RU school record with two triple in Rockford's 13-4 win over Robert Morris-Springfield. He also went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in against Edgewood. For the week, Fiorito had 11 hits, nine runs scored, three runs batted in, two triples, a home run, a double and five stolen bases.

Christian Pearcy Named Regent of the Week

Junior right-handed pitcher Christian Pearcy (Tucson, Ariz.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 14, 2019. Pearcy was brilliant on the mound for the Regents on Saturday. The junior threw a season-high eight innings, allowing just one run and striking out three. Pearcy had the Eagles off balance his entire start, retiring 13-of-14 batters beginning in the bottom of the second, including seven straight to enter the eighth inning.

Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending April 7, 2019. Terry had a trio of top seven finishes at the Benedictine University Invitational over the weekend. Her top performance came in the shot put where she finished second with a throw of 12.98 meters. Her throw was the second farthest in the NACC this season and the twentieth farthest in Division III. She also broke the RU school record and finished sixth in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.47 meters. Her throw was the third best in the NACC so far this season. Terry concluded her day with a seventh place finish in the discus with a throw of 36.33 meters.

Dylan King Named Regent of the Week

Junior infielder Dylan King (Constantine, Mich.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2019. King hit .407 with a pair of doubles and drove in 14 runs for the Regents this past week. She began her red-hot hitting going 6-for-9 with a double and nine runs driven in during Rockford's sweep of Beloit. King then opened the series against Aurora with a 3-for-4 performance, including a double and four more runs driven in. Her efforts on the diamond helped Rockford sweep NACC preseason favorite Aurora University for the first time since the creation of the conference.

Zack Jones Named NACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Rockford University junior right-handed pitcher Zack Jones (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. This is both the first NACC weekly award of his career and also the baseball program's first conference player of the week honoree this season.

Zack Jones Named Regent of the Week

Junior pitcher Zack Jones (Rockford, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 24, 2019. Jones improved his record to 2-1 on the mound this season in Rockford's 8-1 win at Augustana on Sunday. The right-hander allowed just three hits and one run over his six innings of work, while striking out seven batters.

Tony Diemer Voted First Team All-NACC

Rockford University senior forward Tony Diemer (Rockford, Ill.) was voted First Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for the second straight season. Diemer becomes the first player in program history to ever be selected First Team All-NACC in back-to-back seasons. This is now the fourth consecutive season the Regents have had at least one first team all-conference selection.

Rylee Klema Earns Back-to-Back NACC Softball Pitcher of the Week Honors

Rockford University freshman Rylee Klema (Mendota, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. Klema is now the first ever RU softball player to earn multiple NACC weekly awards in a career or a season.

Rylee Klema Voted NACC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Rylee Klema (Mendota, Ill.) earned Rockford's first award of the spring season on Tuesday when she was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. She becomes the first RU softball player to earn a NACC weekly award since 2013, and the first player to be named the conference's pitcher of the week since the 2011 season.

Rylee Klema Named Regent of the Week

Freshman pitcher Rylee Klema (Mendota, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 17, 2019. Klema had another outstanding week inside the circle for the Regents. She posted a 4-1 record and threw five complete games in her five starts, including a pair of nine-strikeout performances. One of her best starts came in Rockford's 2-1 win over Blackburn. Klema allowed just one run on four hits while striking out nine and walking none. The freshman finished the week with a 1.75 earned run average and 30 strikeouts over her 36.0 innings pitched.

Rylee Klema Named Regent of the Week

Freshman pitcher Rylee Klema (Mendota, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 10, 2019. Klema led the Regents to a pair of wins last week with her excellent performances inside the circle. Klema went 2-0 with a 0.00 earned run average and 16 strikeouts in her two starts. She began by throwing a complete game in Rockford's 5-1 win over New Jersey City. Klema allowed just one unearned run and struck out ten in her seven innings of work. She then tossed four shutout innings and struck out six in Rockford's 9-1 five-inning win over SUNY Canton.

Resident Assistant Staff for the 2018- 2019 Academic Year

The following Rockford University students were selected to be Resident Assistants (RA) for the 2018- 2019 academic year. Resident Assistants are upper-class student leaders who are carefully selected and trained to help foster a learning-living environment in the residence halls at Rockford University. The RA's are assigned a high degree of responsibility in working with the students and administration to create and maintain a safe, productive community in the halls.

Tommy Brown Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore thrower Tommy Brown (Plano, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending March 3, 2019. Brown participated in a pair of last chance meets this past week for the Regents. Brown's best performance came on Saturday when he broke the Rockford University school record in the shot put. He finished tenth the in event with a distance of 14.10 meters. His throw was exactly 0.30 meters farther than the previous school record and was also the second farthest throw in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference this year.

Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Sophomore thrower Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending February 24, 2019. Terry won the shot put for the second straight year at the NACC Indoor Championships this past Saturday. Her throw of 12.56 meters was a season best and 0.03 meters farther than the second-place finisher. She becomes the first RU female to win back-to-back NACC Indoor Championships in the same event and only the second Regent to ever accomplish that feat. Terry also finished 15th in the weight throw with a distance of 11.09 meters.
