The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday morning that Rockford University freshman guard Audrina Terhune has been named the NACC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Terhune becomes the first RU female in any sport this year to be named the conference's player of the week and the first RU women's basketball player to earn the award since 2019 (Neve Yerk). Audrina Terhune hit a runner in the lane as time expired, to give the Regents a thrilling 83-82 win over Manchester in their season opener. She also notched her first career double-double, scoring a career-high 19 points and dishing out a career-best ten assists. Terhune shot 69.2% from the floor (9-of-13) and added four rebounds and one steal to her totals. The RU women's basketball team will be back at home on Wednesday, November 10 at 5:30 PM against Grinnell College.

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference has announced that Rockford University senior outside hitter Della Crain has been voted NACC Honorable Mention by the conference's 14 head coaches. This marks the second straight season that Crain has been named NACC Honorable Mention. Crain also becomes the first RU women's volleyball player to receive postseason recognition from the NACC in consecutive seasons since Angela Snow (2006/2007). Della Crain was the top offensive threat for the Regents and one of the top attackers in the NACC this past season. Crain finished the regular season tied for third in the NACC in kills (330), seventh in kills per set (3.24) and solo blocks (17) and thirteenth in total blocks (62), all of which also led the team. Additionally, she concluded the year with career-highs in hitting percentage (.212), service aces (27), digs (68) and block assists (45). Crain finishes her four-year career as a Regent with 884 kills (2.75 kills/set), 52 service aces, 210 digs and 121 total blocks.

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that Rockford University freshman Miguel Gallardo has been voted NACC Honorable Mention by the conference's thirteen head coaches. This is Gallardo's first ever award from the NACC. He also becomes the first Regent to receive a postseason award this year. Miguel Gallardo led the Regents in every offensive category and was reward by the conference with a NACC Honorable Mention selection. Gallardo finished the 2021 season with team-highs in goals (3), assists (3), points (9), shots (27) and shots on goal (11). Additionally, Gallardo scored the game winning goal in the 73rd minute of Rockford's 2-1 road win over Edgewood. The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday morning that Rockford University senior defensive back Garrick McGregor has been named the NACC Football Defensive Player of the Week. McGregor is the second RU football player this year (Jaelen Ray - QB) and the first defensive player since 2019 (Jallen Bashford - LB) to be named the conference's player of the week. Garrick McGregor had a career day on Saturday and nearly helped the Regents pull off an upset win over NACC unbeaten Benedictine University. McGregor ended a trio of Benedictine drives by intercepting two passes (one in the end zone) and recovering a fumble. He also tied his career-high with ten tackles. The RU football team hits the road for the final time this season on Saturday, October 30 to face St. Norbert College. Kickoff between the Regents and Green Knights is set for 1 PM.

The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday morning that Rockford University senior goalkeeper Jonathan Eduardo Rosales has been named the NACC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Rosales is the first RU men's soccer player to earn a NACC weekly award this season and is just the third Regent goalkeeper to be named NACC Defensive Player of the Week. Jonathan Eduardo Rosales earned a shutout victory over Concordia Wisconsin this past Saturday in his first appearance in goal this season. Rosales recorded seven saves, including stopping a CUW penalty kick late in the second half, to preserve Rockford's 2-0 win. The RU men's soccer team returns to the field on Wednesday, October 6 against Concordia University Chicago. The match has a scheduled start time of 6 PM at Wedgbury Stadium.

Rockford University quarterback Jaelen Ray earned yet another award this season when it was announced that he had been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. This is the second weekly award in just three weeks for Ray, who was also named the NACC Football Offensive Player of the Week back in week one. Ray becomes just the fifth RU football player to be named to the D3football.com of the Week and the first ever Regent quarterback to receive the honor. Jaelen Ray had yet another record-setting day behind center for the Regents this past Saturday. Ray went 27-of-49 for 472 yards and 8 passing touchdowns. He also carried the ball 9 times for 56 yards. His 8 passing touchdowns broke the Rockford University and the NACC record and was just one touchdown shy of tying the NCAA Division III record. He also broke the RU single-game records for passing yards (472) and total offense (528) and tied the school record for passing attempts (49). Ray is currently on pace to shatter every single-season Rockford University passing record and has a chance to break a couple of NACC records as well. Through just three games, Ray has 84 completions on 131 attempts for 1,269 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns with just 1 interception. He also has 1,350 yards of total offense. The current single-season school records are as follows: completions (175), pass attempts (329), passing yards (2,332), passing touchdowns (21) and total offense (2,388). The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Wednesday morning that Rockford University quarterback Jaelen Ray had been selected as the NACC Football Offensive Player of the Week. Ray becomes the first Regent this year and the first RU quarterback since the 2014 season (Andrew Stochl) to win the award. Jaelen Ray went 31-of-37 (83.8%) for 402 yards and 4 touchdowns in Rockford's convincing 48-13 win over Grinnell. He set the school record for completions in a game and was the first RU quarterback to throw four touchdowns in a game since 2018. His 402 passing yards were second most in school history, and it was only the second time an RU quarterback eclipsed the 400-yard passing mark in a single game. Additionally, Rockford's 35-point victory was the largest for the Regents since the 2015 season. The Rockford University football team returns to the field on Saturday, September 11 against Greenville College. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM at Sam Greeley Field.

Freshman pitcher and designated hitter Jared Herzog has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 16, 2021. Herzog had one of his best pitching performances of the season over the weekend at the NACC South Division Tournament. In just his sixth start of the season, the freshman lefty held the Eagles without a hit for 5.2 innings. In total Herzog went 6.1 innings, allowing just one hit and one unearned run. He also had one hit in the game and scored the Regents' only run of the day.

Pitcher/designated hitter Jared Herzog headlined the group with his NACC South Division Freshman of the Year selection. Herzog becomes just the third RU baseball player to be named the NACC Freshman of the Year (Jimmy Dercks, 2009 and Cole Logemann, 2013). Rockford also had a trio of players receive NACC South Division Honorable Mention status. Pitchers Christian Pearcy and Christian Dahlstrom and catcher Christian Garcia were all selected NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in their respective careers. Rockford's four NACC postseason awards are the most for the Regents since 2015. Sophomore pitcher Christian Dahlstrom was named NACC South Division Honorable Mention for the first time in his career. Dahlstrom was primarily a relief pitcher this season, but also made a couple of spot starts, one of which was a complete game victory. He finished the year with a 6-3 record (2nd NACC) and had one save in his 18 appearances (3rd NACC). Dahlstrom also had 54 strikeouts (8th NACC) and a 3.79 earned run average (9th NACC) in 54.2 innings pitched (9th NACC).

Offensively, he finished with a .301 batting average, a .415 on-base percentage and a .406 slugging percentage. Herzog also had 26 walks (2nd NACC), 10 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 21 RBIs.

Garcia also provided one of the most memorable moments of the season, when he hit a walk-off grand slam in the tenth inning against Lakeland.

Rockford University pitcher Christian Dahlstrom earned his first major award of the season on Tuesday when he was selected as a relief pitcher on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. This is the third time in his career that Dahlstrom has been honored with a D3baseball.com Team of the Week selection, which is the most for any player in program history. He also becomes the second Regent to receive the award so far this season (Jared Herzog). Christian Dahlstrom went 2-0 last week in a pair of relief appearances to help Rockford secure the final spot in the NACC South Division Tournament. Dahlstrom entered both games with the score tied and runners on first and second with two outs. He retired the first batter he faced both times, and then proceeded to pitch the remainder of each game without allowing a run. In total, Dahlstrom pitched 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just 6 hits and striking out 6. The RU baseball team returns to the diamond on Friday, May 14 to face top-seeded Aurora University in the NACC South Division Tournament. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. in Montgomery, Illinois.

Senior Emily Cox has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 9, 2021. Cox had a trio of multi-hit games, a .533 batting average, a .650 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage this past week. Her top performance came in Rockford's first ever NACC Tournament win. Cox went 3-for-5 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a thrilling 10-9 comeback victory over the eventual NACC South Division Tournament Champion, Benedictine University. She finished the week with 8 hits, 2 home runs, a double, 4 runs scored and 5 RBIs.

Seniors Annaka Bartz and Gretchen Schrubbe were each voted First Team All-NACC for the first time in their careers. Bartz and Schrubbe become only the second and third players in program history to be selected First Team All-NACC and are the first since the 2009 season (Jessica Starr). Fellow seniors Emily Cox and Mikayla Seay and freshman Jocelyn Callahan all received NACC Honorable Mention status. This is the second time Cox has received a postseason award from the conference and the first for both Seay and Callahan. Rockford's five NACC postseason awards is by far the most in program history, with the previous high of three coming back in the 2008 season. Jocelyn Callahan of Belvidere was named NACC Honorable Mention as a freshman. Callahan started the season in the outfield, but has since transitioned to third base and helped solidify the left side of the infield. She has been one of the top freshman in the NACC this year and ranks in the top 20 in the conference in a pair of categories heading into postseason play. Callahan is fourth in the conference in stolen bases (16) and 13th in runs scored (23). She is also hitting .340 with a .441 on-base percentage and a .520 slugging percentage. Callahan has 34 hits, including 8 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and has driven in 15 runs.

Cox also has 3 triples and 25 runs scored.

Additionally, Seay has a .330 batting average, a .382 on-base percentage, a .523 slugging percentage, 2 home runs and 23 RBIs. Seay also had perhaps the biggest hit of the season, when she crushed a walk-off grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Dominican and clinch the No. 3 seed for Rockford in the 2021 NACC South Division Tournament.

She is currently eighth in the NACC in doubles (12) and runs scored (36) and 12th in both on-base percentage (.472) and slugging percentage (.648). Bartz also has a .390 batting average, 3 triples, 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. Defensively she is one of the main reasons the Regents were able to turn a school record 15 double plays so far this season.

Heading into the conference tournament, Schrubbe ranks in the top 20 in the NACC in six categories. She is currently fourth in the NACC in triples (4), eighth in doubles (12), 11th in runs batted in (28), 12th in batting average (.415), 13th in slugging percentage (.636) and 18th in stolen bases (9). Schrubbe also has a .444 on-base percentage and 2 home runs.

Freshman goalkeeper Maverick Attwood, sophomore midfielder Joshua De Avila and junior midfielder Pedro Acosta were all named NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in their collegiate careers. This also marks the first time in program history that Rockford has had three players receive postseason recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in a single year. Joshua De Avila was selected NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in his collegiate career. De Avila played in all eight matches, including seven starts. He finished with ten shots and led the Regents with seven shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Maverick Attwood, sophomore midfielder Joshua De Avila and junior midfielder Pedro Acosta were all named NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in their collegiate careers. This also marks the first time in program history that Rockford has had three players receive postseason recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in a single year. Pedro Acosta was voted NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in his collegiate career. He played in all eight matches and made seven starts. Acosta led the Regents with 12 shots this season and finished second on the team with six shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Maverick Attwood, sophomore midfielder Joshua De Avila and junior midfielder Pedro Acosta were all named NACC Honorable Mention for the first time in their collegiate careers. This also marks the first time in program history that Rockford has had three players receive postseason recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in a single year. Maverick Attwood was named NACC Honorable Mention in his first collegiate season. This is the second award Attwood received from the NACC this year, after being named the NACC South Division Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the year. Attwood started all eight matches and played all 760 minutes in goal for the Regents. He finished second in the NACC with 52 saves and had one shutout. His top two performances of the season both came against Aurora University. Attwood had ten saves and allowed just one goal in the first meeting, and then had a season-high 11 saves, while surrendering only one goal in the second meeting.

Senior Mikayla Seay has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 2, 2021. Seay had multiple hits in all three games last week, to finish with a .700 batting average and a 1.300 slugging percentage. She also had perhaps the biggest hit of the year for Rockford in game one on Saturday. With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, Seay crushed a walk-off grand slam over the center field wall to win the game and secure the #3 seed in the NACC South Division Tournament. Seay finished the week with seven hits, three doubles, a home run, five runs batted in and two runs scored in ten at bats.

Freshman starting pitcher Jared Herzog collected another weekly award on Tuesday morning when it was announced that he had been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. This is the second weekly award Herzog has received this season, after being named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week earlier in the year. Herzog also becomes the second Regent pitcher (Christian Pearcy) to be named the NACC South Division Pitcher of the Week this season. Jared Herzog was brilliant on the mound Sunday in his lone start of the week. Herzog was unhittable in the first half of the game, holding the Stars hitless through four innings. He went on to allow just four hits and one run, while striking out eight to pick up the win. The freshman went all seven innings to record the first complete game of his collegiate career. The RU baseball team will close out the regular season this weekend with four games against Concordia University Chicago. Rockford will travel to CUC on Saturday for a noon doubleheader. The Regents will then host the Cougars on Sunday at noon for two games at Rivets Stadium.
