Michael Murray Nets NACC Weekly Award

Rockford University senior guard Michael Murray (Princeton, Ill.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This is the third NACC weekly award of his career but his first for basketball. Murray's other two NACC Player of the Week awards came in 2015 for baseball.

Murray recorded his fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season this past week to lead Rockford to a perfect 2-0 record. In Rockford's win over Loras, he had 23 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Murray then concluded his week with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks to help the Regents top the Stars. In the two games he averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3 steals, 2.5 blocks, shot 76.2% from the floor and 91.7% from the free throw line.

The Rockford University men's basketball team returns to the court on Tuesday, December 1 at home against Benedictine University. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Seaver Center.
