Kyle McCaffrey appears in "Babes in Arms" at Rockford University

"Babes in Arms" concerns a young man and woman who put on a show with their friends to avoid having them be sent to a work farm, since their parents are out of work vaudevillians. Kyle McCaffrey, a freshman acting/directing from Niles IL appeared as Seymour Fleming in the Rockford University fall 2014 production.

"Babes in Arms" was written in 1937 with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Lorenz Hart and book by Rodgers and Hart. It opened on Broadway on April 14, 1937 and ran for 289 performances. Several songs in Babes in Arms became pop standards, including the title song; "Where or When". The play was adapted for film in 1939 and starred Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.
