David Camacho Voted NACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the Second Time

The Rockford University baseball team received their second individual award of the season when David Camacho (Elk Grove, Ill.) was named NACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on March 26. This marks the second time he has won the award this season. He earned the recognition after he stymied an explosive #16 Augustana lineup to lead Rockford to the upset victory.

Camacho threw a complete game shutout allowing only five hits over the nationally ranked Augustana Vikings. He dealt the Vikings only their second loss of the season. By throwing all nine innings he now leads the team and the NACC with 29 innings pitched on the season. With the shutout he lowered his season ERA total to 2.48, good for fourth in the NACC. Camacho is now tied for first in the NACC with three wins. Lastly, his two complete games are tied for first in the NACC.

The Regents return to the diamond today, March 28, against Loras College in their home opener at Rivets Stadium. The contest is set to begin at 5 p.m. CDT.
